Finally, it was time for us to head back east, towards home.
But you can tell that it had been a really great trip. I mean, look how happy!
So, we got into the car and drove across the Mojave desert.
This is a power plant where they have covered the desert in mirrors that direct the sunlight to those towers to boil water and make electricity. Where is the water? I thought we were in the desert?
Clearly I still have some questions about the Ivanpah solar power plant.
As soon as we crossed the border between California and Nevada, we found casinos.
This is called Primm valley, and it's a tiny little Las Vegas. There are casinos on both sides of the freeway, and a monorail train that connects them all.
One casino was like an old mining town, and there was a mine cart roller coaster ride.
Since it was about lunch time, we stopped for one of the all-you-can-eat buffets inside a casino.
And so, Connor and Lex and I all went to a casino for the first time.
The buffet was good, and we didn't have any trouble walking across the casino floor to get to the buffet on the way in.
But, on the way out, the kids got a little caught up at a roulette table, and the lady running it shooed us away. They are a bit underage, I suppose. So we left, and we continued our journey.
Next stop: Las Vegas!
