Happy Children's Day

June 1st is Children's Day in China, and the kids were keen to adopt this Chinese holiday.  I can't imagine why.

This year, June 1st also marks the beginning of their week of summer video game vacation.  For one week, they are going to be allowed to play as much as they want to on their computers.  So, that means that they are going to be glued to their computers for all of their waking hours for an entire week.  It's a lot.

Today, to celebrate Children's Day, I made chicken and biscuits for breakfast:

Then, we had a request for chicken tenders for lunch.  Dinner?  They wanted chicken sandwiches.  It's always a lot of chicken.

I also made brownies to celebrate.  They disappeared quickly.

Finally, I bought them some books as a gift.  (To tempt them away from their computers.)

Children’s Day

No, it hasn't worked yet.  I'm sure they will read them next week.  (There are two more books in this series.  We already had the one about Dinosaurs, and the one about Ancient Egypt was delayed and will arrive in a couple of days.)

HAPPY CHILDREN'S DAY!
