The First Day of School: 2023-2024 Edition

Here is the obligatory First Day of School photo.

It's Lex's first day of high school, 9th grade, and school, like ever.

It's Connor's first day of 11th grade, and being able to drive himself (and his brother) to school.

Kevin and I waved them off as they pulled out of the garage and drove to school, all by themselves.

Celebrating the End of Summer

Because Monday is the first day of the new school year, we took the boys out for a special dinner on Friday night.

I got a beach punch. Yum!

Connor and I noticed that we were both wearing yellow shirts, so we decided to take a selfie.

High School Football

Tonight was the first game of the season. 

Kevin and I took Connor to the game.

He hung out with some friends. 

But he did come find us when he wanted money for the concession stand.

First Day of School

Today was Connor's first day of school!

He is now officially a Freshman!

Freshman Boot Camp

Today, we went over to the high school bright and early for Connor's welcome to high school.

School starts on Monday. He's going to be a freshman. He's going to school for the first time ever.

We met some teachers and the principle. We talked to his counselor about his schedule. We rented his locker for the year.

We visited the club and activity fair in the gym, and we bought some school spirit wear. I think he's all ready for school now.

Off to Camp

Last night, I suggested that Connor start packing for his first high school adventure several times. Early and often. But, Connor decided to start packing around 10:00 PM. He finished packing around 11:30. 

He was only a little tired.

I woke him up at 5:00 AM this morning so that he could check-in at 6:00 AM.  The buses were leaving town this morning before 7:00 AM.  I totally get it.  The best road trips out of Atlanta start before traffic becomes a problem.
