Sometime during 8th or 9th week of quarantine, I put purple peak-a-boo highlights in my hair. They aren't very noticeable on video chats, and I'm not going anywhere, so no one has really noticed or seen them.
What follows here is a bunch of random selfies that I have taken to see them myself. Proof that they are still there.
Ohh. Too Sunny. Need the sunglasses.
Now it is the 11th week of quarantine. I still have some purple highlights. And more purple hair dye. I think next time I might do more streaks. Or larger streaks. Or maybe I will dye the bottom inch of all of my hair purple.
Today, we measured the boys. They have both grown three inches since the last time they were measured.
Lex is 4'9" tall, and Connor is 5'3" tall.
I also got measured. I am still 5'6" tall, and only three inches taller than Connor! He's going to catch up to me very soon.
Also, today, I found a bunch of someone's cut hair in the bathroom sink. It was Lex's hair. When I asked him about it, he told me that his hair was bothering him, so he cut it off. We are now planning on going to get a real haircut tomorrow. He didn't do too bad of a job, but the hair behind one of his ears is way shorter than the hair behind the other one.
On the afternoon of my birthday, Kevin sent me to the mall so that he could surprise me when I got home. I decided to get my hair cut.
Before
After
I also bought myself a new pair of sneakers.
While I was out, Kevin took the boys to a cake store and bought a couple of undecorated bundt cakes, and then turned them into a pumpkin for me. I can't believe what a great job they did decorating the cake.
Then we watched Wonder Woman. It was a wonderful movie.
Poppy slept next to me during the movie.
Lex gave her his favorite stuffed dog, Zane, to snuggle.
When both Connor and Lex had long hair, everyone thought they were twins. And while a few people mistook them for girls, most figured out that they were boys. Obviously, Connor and Lex didn't like being called girls. And Connor, in particular, didn't like being called twins.
So, Connor was happy when he got his haircut and no one thought he was a girl or Lex's twin anymore.
But a strange thing happened. The number of people who assumed that Lex was a girl after Connor got his hair cut increased exponentially. His long hair became a source of frustration for him, as people called him a girl several times a day. So, he decided to get a hair cut, at a place where he could play video games while it was being done.
Lex actually laughed at the salon girl when she asked him if he knew how to use a mouse. Obviously. It's a mouse. You need one for Minecraft.
Lex looks great. More importantly, he thinks he looks great.
He was especially proud of his clothes this day because everything was Star Wars. He was wearing a Lego Star Wars t-shirt, Angry Birds Star Wars pajama shorts, and some Star Wars socks. He was rocking it.
Since he got his hair cut, no one has mistaken my boys for girls. But we are back to the twins thing again. All day long we hear, "Are they twins?"
Yesterday, Connor informed me that he wanted to get his hair cut. He said that he would be ready to go over to Sports Clips the next day and that he wanted to get all his hair cut off.
So, this morning, I asked him if he was still planning on getting his hair cut, and if so, when he wanted to go. He told me that he wanted to get his hair cut at 3:00 PM.
So, around 3:00 PM, we headed over to Sports Clips.
The last photo with all that hair.
He took care of telling the lady what to do with his hair all by himself. He asked Lex and I to go sit in the waiting area in the front of the store, where we watched Sports Center on ESPN. And he got a hair cut.
Also, I got my hair trimmed last weekend, and now Connor says that he might be ready for a trim soon. And that he wants to get his hair cut short again before October. He wouldn't tell me what October has to do with short hair, so I don't know why that is the deadline.
