It was at least 100 degrees today, and Lex has been wanting to set up a lemonade stand for a while now, so it seemed to him like the perfect opportunity. He scouted out this perfect location and got to work. He made $30 selling lemonade!
A local magician stopped by for a glass of lemonade and did a fantastic trick for Lex.
He held a match inside his hand and blew the smoke from the fire out of his mouth!
This past weekend we finally managed to go for a bike ride on the beltline, which is something that has been on our to-do list for a long time now.
The boys rode their bikes. Kevin and I rode on some birds, which are rentable electric scooters, which was awesome until the battery in my scooter died. Womp womp.
You know we had dinner at Ponce.
Lex even got to ride a bird for a few minutes. He was thrilled. He loves those things.
I have been wanting to go to visit the Alpine German town of Helen, Georgia for about a year now, ever since I first found out that it existed and wasn't even too far away from here. And so, we finally went in order to celebrate my birthday and Oktoberfest. It was super fun, and I think we will have to go back again in the warmer weather to play mini golf and eat ice cream and visit the water parks and play in the river, and then again next October for Oktoberfest when Kevin will be able to walk around the town a bit more, and maybe even dance a little polka.

Our first official stop was the visitor center, which was cute and informative.
Then, we headed over to Hansel & Gretel's Candy Kitchen and Chocolate Factory, because of course we did.
The candy apples were amazing.
All the candy is hand made.
I think I know someone who would like to order one of these solid chocolate footballs for the Superbowl this coming February. Yes, it is regulation sized.
After the candy factory and eating a ton of chocolate, we headed over to Oktoberfest.
We ate Bavarian nuts and pretzels for snacks.
Then, Kevin and Lex decided to take a little nap, and Connor and I decided to walk around and do a little sightseeing and shopping.
Connor ended up eating the entire sausage, even though it was as big as his arm.
Finally, we went to dinner at Hofbrauhaus.
I had schnitzel and spaetzle, which is exactly what I wanted.
I took the boys to the bowling alley. The first thing they did was play in the arcade for a bit, which is obviously why anyone goes to a bowling alley, especially when their mom is trying to get them out of the house and away from video games for a little while.
Once I got them out of the arcade, we went bowling.
While we were bowling, a guy came around and started switching all of the overhead light bulbs into black light bulbs. Once he was done, he flipped the switch, and suddenly we were doing black light bowling, which is something that the boys have always wanted to do, but we never managed to get done, mostly because it only happened late at night in Amarillo.
So, now they can check black light bowling off their bucket lists.
That's right. The Boys Club went to Tank Town and they loved it. LOVED IT. They got sooo muddy. And it snowed! The weather was supposed to be 50 degrees and sunny, but those were all just lies. Poor Lex was wearing shorts. SHORTS in the SNOW and MUD at TANK TOWN.

It was so muddy that the mud sucked Lex's shoes right off his feet.
We got it all sorted out, but then the mud was both on the inside and the outside of his shoes.
According to Lex:
"Tank Town is 10/10 Dabs."
I was NOT expecting them to ride on top of the tanks.
I thought they would be riding INSIDE the tanks.
But what do I know?
Best Ride Ever!
TANK TOWN is AWESOME.
The boys want to go back again with Dad. To crush a car. When the weather isn't so cold and snowy. I imagine it is always a muddy mess at Tank Town, though. It took me a while, but I got the car clean, inside and out, the shoes clean, the clothes clean, and the coats clean. Mess managed.
We are celebrating New Year's Eve this year by watching the Lego Ninjago movie, playing with sparklers, and then watching the ball drop in Times Square on TV. We had considered going downtown to the Peach Drop, but it was just too frigid outside to stay out for that long. Maybe next year it will be warm enough to do the Atlanta New Year's Eve Peach Drop.
On Saturday afternoon, we headed out to Bottoms Christmas Tree Farm in search of the perfect tree.
It was a perfectly snowy day at a picture-perfect farm.
After the tree was cut down, the kids and Kevin made a snowman in the field and had a snowball fight while I went back to the barn to grab a guy to retrieve the tree for us on his tractor.
Then, while the tree was being trimmed and bagged and tied to the roof of the car, the kids and I roasted marshmallows on the fire. I selflessly agreed to eat all the ones that caught on fire since the kids didn't want to eat the burned ones.
We have never cut our own tree before, and we wanted to do it, and the kids were pretty much the perfect age to do it this year. I'm glad we finally found a great place. It was so much fun, and we ended up with a nice 8 foot tall Christmas tree.
