Harry Potter: The Exhibition

I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.

Tonight, Kevin and I went to the Harry Potter traveling exhibition that has stopped in Atlanta for a while.

We got to see so many movie props and cool interactive displays.

We both got to see our futures in the crystal balls in Professor Trelawney's classroom.

Then, I got a new Hogwarts hoodie and Chocolate Frog key chain during the second half of our winter vacation:

The frog's name is Percival. He likes to run errands with me.

New Year's Day at Universal Studios

On the first day of 2022, we visited Universal Studios.

But first, Starbucks!

I clearly need to ask my Dad for his version of this photo, because we were looking at his camera in all the ones my Mom sent me. (Hey, Dad...)

We rode Transformers twice to start the day because there was no line at all.

Yesterday, I drank a frozen butterbeer at the Three Broomsticks, so this morning I opted for the hot butterbeer. It was equally amazing.

We rode:

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts

Fast & Furious - Supercharged

Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon

Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit

Per Connor's request, we ate lunch at Richter's Burger Company.

We rode:

Men in Black: Alien Attack

The Simpsons Ride

While we were waiting in lines throughout the day, we talked about our New Year's Resolutions.

I hadn't really come up with one yet, then this sign that I spotted while we were in the Simpson's ride caught my eye. It really spoke to me, and I decided to adopt it as my slogan for 2022.

My New Year's Resolution is now *officially* to have more fun than sitting at home.

(Take that, COVID-19 pandemic.)

Then, we headed to ride Revenge of the Mummy.

We were expecting a 45 minute wait, according to the app and the time posted at the ride. But somehow, we walked right onto the ride. So, we rode it twice in a row, walking right onto the ride both times. But, as we exited the ride the second time, we could see that the line had actually formed, and people were standing and waiting again. We just made it there at the perfect time.

Then we rode the Jimmy Fallon ride a second time, because there was no wait, Connor really loves it, and we had a little bit of time before our dinner reservations.

We ate dinner at Finnegan's Bar & Grill.

Then, we watched the Macy's Holiday Parade.

I had been looking forward to seeing all the balloons all day long. And it was magical!

Seeing this parade almost makes me want to go to New York City for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.

I don't know about the cold weather in New York at Thanksgiving, though.

We finished the day by riding:

Shrek 4D

Despicable Me Minion Mayhem

E.T. Adventure

Then we declared that this theme park had been fully conquered.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
