Long Easter Weekend

Thursday Night

Kevin and I went out to dinner at Mimi's Cafe at Polaris. It was our first time there, and they have a huge variety of food. It was pretty good, although Kevin didn't really like his "West Coast" ruben sandwich. Then, we met up with my parents and went to see the Celtic Women perform at the Palace Theater. It was a great show, and I had no idea what to expect, as my dad is the one who is a fan, and ever since he bought us the tickets, I had been avoiding anything Celtic Women-related, so as to make the show a surprise. The drummers were awesome, as was the dancing violin player!
Friday
Kevin and I both had Good Friday off from work, so we mostly just relaxed during the day. Then, Carrie came over in the evening to help me address the invitations for Sara's bridal shower. Then, Sara and Jason stopped by to drop off the inserts that Sara wanted to send out with her invitations. We ended up having an impromptu dinner party with yummy pizza from Donatoes. Fortunately, all the invitations got finished up, and I put them in the mail this morning.

Saturday

Kevin and I went to a labor and delivery class at the hospital where we plan on having the baby. It was very informative. We learned some good positions, relaxation techniques and breathing exercises. I've decided that I'm going to try to have the baby without an epidural. We have an appointment with my doctor today, and I'm going to talk to her about it some more. If anyone has anything they would like to share with me about their experience with delivery and medicine, I would like to hear it.

After our class, I made the bunny cake pictured above for Easter dinner with my family. I was really pleased with how it turned out.

Saturday night we rented the new James Bond movie - Casino Royale. It was pretty good, although it started out kinda slow and cheesy. By the end of the movie, though, I really liked it.

After the movie, I got a phone call from Katie, who was calling to let me know that another one of our sorority sisters, Star, had overdosed on something and died on Friday. I don't really know any more details, but it is tragic, and Star is the first person that I've actually known to die. I'm waiting on Katie to call me back with information about the funeral.

Easter Sunday

Kevin and I went to church, and then we went to my parents house for a big turkey feast. Everything was delicious! Kevin and I took a nap right after dinner, probably because of the turkey. Then, we watched Eragon, which turned out to be a pretty good movie, although the book was better, as it usually is.

On the way home from my parents' house, Jason called to let us know that Sara was in surgery. She had gone to the ER that morning with abdominal pain, and she is going to be fine, although I'm going to go and visit her in the hospital today after I get out of my doctor's appointment.

Today I'm only going to be working a half day before my doctors appointment. I got a new computer at work with Windows Vista on it, and I'm still getting used to it. I'll probably grow to like it, but right now, I'm not so sure that I do.
