The Nursery

Kevin and I have been working on getting the nursery all put together. (And when I say Kevin and I, I mostly mean Kevin, as all the gifts we got from the baby shower just sat in our front living room until he starting carrying them up the stairs for me, and he is the one who has been assembling everything.)

I'm really happy that things are starting to come together, and we look like we might actually be ready for the baby sometime soon!

This is the view into the nursery from the doorway. I'm really pleased that the crib we bought matches the wood furniture that we already had in the room. I've bought a new quilt for the twin bed, but I still need to buy matching sheets and wash all the new bedding before I can get rid of the plaid stuff that doesn't really match the new room decor.

This is the crib that we bought...Kevin put it all together for me. He's going to raise the matress up when he gets a chance, since I asked him to do it. There is a nice little storage area underneath where I'll put blankets and things like that...once they all get washed and taken out of their packaging. Right now it is holding all of the baby clothes that we don't have hangers for. Notice all the stuffed animals the baby has already? We are going to have to put up a shelf or something for all of those.

This is the crib mobile. Isn't it cute? It is the only thing that I have actually helped put together so far.

Here you can see the picture that everyone signed at my baby shower. Right now there is an ultrasound picture in the frame, but we'll probably replace that with a picture of the baby once he is born. Under that, you can see the organizer that my friend Really made for me. We hung it low so that the baby can use it himself in a few years to hold small stuffed animals or something.

This last picture is a random shot of inside the closet. We've hung a few things up, but we need to get more little hangers and some sort of closet organizer for things like socks and hats.

All in all, I think things are really starting to come together, and I'm getting excited!
