I have actually had a chance to watch a couple of movies and read some books during the last week or so.
I watched "The Queen" all by myself, and I really liked it. I had no idea what the story was about, just that the movie was supposed to be really good and had won a ton of awards and nominations. It turned out to be the story of the royal family's reaction to Diana's death, and it was excellent. It wasn't very long either, which was good, because I fit it in during one of Connor's naps. :)
I watched "Pan's Labyrinth" with my little brother Kevin. It was a pretty good movie. Some of the violence was incredibly excessive, though. I couldn't believe this one part where a man got his nose bashed in with a bottle. The fantasy sequences were very nicely done, and there was a lot of imagination put into them. It was also a nice refresher in spanish, since no one will speak it with me around here.
I've been reading the "DragonSpell" books by Donita K. Paul. I read the first one, "DragonSpell," a while ago, and was upset that there weren't anymore books in the series. Then, I forgot all about it, until I found out the she released the fourth book this summer! So, I re-read the first book, and then I read the second and third books, "DragonQuest" and "DragonKnight." Right now I am reading the fourth book, "DragonFire." All these books are great! I hope that she keeps writing them, but I'm going to have to wait for the next book.
