Dinner at Outback

Kevin and I went to Outback for dinner last night. We had a pretty good server, but he did do a few “interesting” things.

First, we overheard him talking with an older couple in the booth behind us about tea. The woman wanted tea, and was inquiring about whether they had hot tea or iced tea, what brand tea they served, and whether it was regular or decaf. He claimed that he had never had tea before, and that he didn’t know anything about it, except that it came in a green package that he would go get to show her. How can one work in a restaurant, and not know what tea is?

Second, after we had ordered and eaten the Chocolate Thunder from Down Under (which was delicious, by the way), the couple in the booth next to us ordered the same thing. He actually told them that they couldn’t have it that night because the kitchen was out of brownies, and that we had eaten the last one! I could have died! The look that the poor girl who didn’t get a brownie gave me was pathetic. But we couldn’t feel too badly about it, seeing as how we were stuffed full of yummy brownie goodness. (Yes, I am feeling a bit smug about it.)
