So, I was checking our bank account online Monday night, and I noticed some charges that were made with Kevin's card that I was previously unaware of. One charge was for about $110 from some website having to do with ancestry, and the other was for about $1,100 from Dell. At first, I was a little upset with Kevin, because both seemed like purchases that he could have made, seeing as how we are currently working on a family tree project and discussing the purchase of new his and hers laptops. I thought that the $110 for the webservice was a waste of money, and I was a little ticked about the laptop, because I wanted to pick my own laptop out before he bought his.
Well, Kevin was napping, so I went and woke him up and asked him about it...and it turns out that he didn't make either purchase. And so begun a lot of phone calling and reporting of theft...the police came out to the house and we filed a report. The purchase from Dell was actually an order for two high end cameras (again, something that Kevin and I are thinking of buying) that was placed from a computer in Ohio and being shipped to Miami, Florida. (That's the extent of the information that Dell would disclose to us, although they have more specific information that they will share only with the police.) We told Dell that we didn't place the order, and they cancelled it with no problems. The charges to the family website are taking longer to resolve, but I am hopeful that it won't be a problem for much longer.
In other news, Connor has pinkeye. His best little girl friend from daycare had it about a week and a half ago, and now he has it. So, after a quick trip to the doctor and the procurement of some prescription eyedrops, he's been allowed back to daycare.
He is really loving the time he spends playing there with the other kids these days. I think he also enjoys getting out of the house and the different toys. On the past two Saturday mornings, he has gone to his car seat first thing in the morning, and tried to climb in it, as if he is getting ready to go to daycare. I'm so glad that he is enjoying it so much. That makes me feel a ton better about sending him.
Connor has actually been very happy all the time lately. He's mastering the use of more signs, and he seems confident that he can get what he wants without resorting to crying most of the time. I'm so happy about that. Who doesn't like to be understood?
Finally, I got the flowers that I ordered. Although I knew that I was just ordering bulbs, I felt somewhat disappointed after I got a box with bulbs in it, and no flowers. I planted everything, and while my flower beds look very nice (there are no more weeds and fresh mulch), I'm not as excited about the empty beds as I would be about flowers.
When I was at the doctor's office with Connor, I read a copy of Blooms & Butterflies. There was a "recipe" in it for a hanging basket that attracts hummingbirds and butterflies that does well in the shade. We have some empty hanging baskets and hooks, so I think I'm going to put it together.
Here is what I need:
2 Fuschia
3 Begonia
1 Sweet Potato Vine
This time I'm going to go to Dill's Greenhouse and buy plants that are already large and pretty, and that should make me happier about my garden.
