Visiting with Connor's Cousins

This past weekend, we went to Cleveland to visit with Kevin's family and to celebrate Grandpa's birthday. (Happy Birthday Grandpa!)

Connor's first cousins once removed from Wisconsin were also in town for the party. I would like to introduce you to Cousin K and Cousin K.

Far be it from me to post pictures of these little cubs online and so anger the mother bear. But, I will post a picture of the papa bear, Kevin's Uncle J, who asked as I was taking this picture, "Am I going to end up on your blog?"

And to that, Dear Uncle J, I can only respond by saying, "Since you mentioned it, I must assume that you are seeking out the type of fame that can only be accomplished by having your photo posted on my blog."

All in all, it was a lovely weekend to visit Cleveland, and the birthday party was fun. The only trouble was the drive home, as we were driving straight into what remained of Hurricane Ike, which was a whole lot of wind. Kevin did the driving, and he kept us on the road, even though we ended up in a different lane a few times.

When we got home, we found our house intact (thank goodness we got a new roof just recently) but some of our yard waste trash cans missing. Since then, all of the trash cans have been found and returned except one. Our power was out last night, but it came back on this morning sometime between 5 and 6 am. Unfortunately, the house across the street from us didn't fare as well, and I have to look at it until it gets fixed!

Boy, Connor's cousins are pretty hairy! (thankfully, this is the one great uncle of his who still has hair, and probably always will!)
