Do you know what this thing is? I don't really...but I do know that if it goes bad, your furnace won't work, and that it costs $299 to replace it.
On Friday, my boss sent me some work right at the end of the day, so I ended up working (late) until about 5:30, which was when Kevin came home. He came home and asked me why I had turned the thermostat down. When I told him that I hadn't, we realized that we had a problem.
He tinkered with the furnace for a bit, and then we packed up and headed out for dinner and to spend the night at my parents' house, were it would be warm. Kevin set up an appointment with an HVAC guy for Saturday, and things were going well.
Connor and I headed to Marysville on Saturday to watch the OSU game at a friend's house, and Kevin went back home to wait for the HVAC guy, who ended up being hours and hours late. He had excuses, but we all know he was watching the game someplace.
Fortunately, though, the furnace was quickly put back into operation and it cost less than $300! We were afraid that we might need to replace the entire unit, which would have been much more involved and expensive.
Kevin waited for the game to finish, and then he drove up to meet us in Marysville for the rest of the party, and to watch the Penn State game, which wasn't a very entertaining game at all.
I can't believe that we drove two cars up and back to Marysville on Saturday. That is the equivalent of 4 hours of drive time all together. Oh well. Gas is cheap...we filled up for $1.55 this weekend...and it was great to see our friends.
And, since I seem to be in weekend summary mode, I might as well add that I got my hair cut on Saturday morning, we had our 2008 family portrait done on Sunday and it is going to be fabulous, we walked all over Polaris mall, and I got to do some shopping. Oh, and Connor seems to be coming down with a mild case of the flu, so we didn't go to COSI, even though we had been considering going on Sunday afternoon. We will probably go again when he is feeling more himself.
