It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas

We have a lovely pre-lit artificial Christmas tree, but the box clearly states that it was made in China and violates the acceptable lead standards for the State of California. If it isn't good enough for California babies, then it isn't good enough for my baby, so it is staying in the storage space this Christmas. We've opted for a nice organic douglas fir tree this year.

I've been looking for a kid-friendly nativity set for months now, and I stumbled upon this Fisher Price Little People Nativity Set in Wal-Mart this past weekend. I am so happy about it! I really wanted one that it would be okay for Connor to play with, and he really seems to enjoy this set.

Yesterday, we went to visit my parents for the afternoon. Before we left, I told Connor to pick out one toy to bring with him. He ran right over and picked out the baby Jesus, so little baby Jesus took a day trip with us to Grandma's yesterday.

Here he is with the little dog from the nativity set, which he loves very much and plays with as much as he does the little baby Jesus.

Here is our tree, now decorated and situated in our living room. We left all of our old glass ornaments in their storage boxes, and we put up new shatterproof ornaments this year. So far, Connor has been very respectful of the tree, and he hasn't bothered it too much.
