Chazen Museum of Art
This morning I took Connor to see the Chazen Museum of Art on the University of Wisconsin campus. It's a pretty nice place, and at Connor's quick pace, we saw the entire thing in about an hour.
They have a temporary collection of Traditional Textiles of Chinese Minorities right now, and Connor really appreciated looking at the fancy clothes and hats that were set up on mannequins. I think he liked this exhibit the best of everything.
The picture above is a Miao Courting Ensemble that we saw. It was very elaborate, and all the extra jewelry and embroidery were meant to help a woman attract a suitable husband.
For lunch, we ate at a little restaurant called Porta Bella. It's an Italian place, and the atmosphere was incredible. We had our own huge circular booth that was enclosed from the rest of the tables. Connor spent a good portion of the meal running from one end around to the other on the seat top, but since it was so private, he didn't bother anyone. Oh, and the food was good, too.
