I took Connor to the Henry Vilas Zoo this morning. We had a great time, and although it was kind of cold, we were able to warm up in the various buildings every once in a while. The sidewalks were a little icy, and Connor fell down one time and got a little wet, so we spent some extra time warming up and drying off in the reptile house, where Connor ran around a bunch and kept trying to open the door to the Boa Constrictor's glass pen, even though I told him that was a really bad idea.
For an outdoor zoo trip in February in Wisconsin, though, I thought that the weather was actually pretty nice.
We saw a ton of animals! The only thing that we didn't find were the giraffes. But, we made up for it by stopping to see the lions a second time on the way out. The tiger brushed right up against the glass a couple of times, and looked right at Connor. He loved it! The orangatans came right up to the glass for us, too.
He also really liked watching the seals swim around and around.
