Do Vaccines Cause Autism?

A recent Court decision says that they don't. You can read an article about it here.

Are you/did you vaccinate your child(ren)?

Kevin and I started to vaccinate Connor, but he is currently behind schedule, and we are definitely waiting to give him the MMR shots.

Frequently, when I take him in for his well check-ups, he is a little bit sick with a runny nose or some other such "daycare crud," so he isn't able to get his scheduled vaccinations.

Furthermore, he has gotten a high fever with just about every shot he has gotten, despite my efforts to give him Tylenol before we go in.

In October, when he got his first flu shot (he was supposed to get a second one a month later) he got the flu a few days later. I took him back to the doctor, and she said "no one is supposed to get the flu from the flu shot..." It seemed to both of us like he had. Needless to say, he didn't get his second one.

Our Blessed Journey... said...

I have a few theories on autism---yes I think vaccinations can lead to it--for some kids, the chemicals are just too much for their sensitive systems. We were fortunate in that my 5 y/o had an egg allergy (since outgrown)---so we weren't allowed to have many vaccines for either of them until later. She had to go to a ped. allergist to have her first MMR after the age of 3--even at her 5 year, he didn't do it (since we aren't required to not being in school). Per our ped doc, we also aren't combining too many vaccinations either--I think that's overkill for their little bodies! We NEVER do the flu shot--I do as little as possible (and I only do the other ones out of "public responsibility")--I say listen to your heart though if you have reservations about this--No I wasn't around for the days of polio, etc---but I do feel that when there's a lot of money to be made on something, it's pushed and mandated---e.g. many vaccines and drugs.
