Wine & Roses Weigela

Just about everyone who came to our house this winter and spotted the dead-looking pile of sticks in the back corner of our yard asked me what I had done to kill my bush. I explained, time and time again, that my Wine & Roses Weigela had grown to the size of a VW Beetle, and that I had to cut it back.

After some research, I found that the method I wanted to use was called "cutting it to the ground," where you cut it back to about half the size you want it to be in the fall.

Everyone swore that I killed it. Kevin was sure that it was dead. I had faith, however.

And, now, look...it isn't dead! It is growing leaves, and we will have a proper bush again in no time!
