My rose bush blooms every year over Memorial Day weekend. Today, I went over to look at it, and I noticed little bugs on my beloved rose bush! I figured that they were rose bush aphids, so I Googled it and spent about two minutes doing research. Now that I'm a total expert on aphids, we went out to solve our problem. I sprayed the bush using the hose on high pressure. They were gone when I was done. I plan to keep an eye on the bush for the next week or so, to make sure they don't come back.
Then, I decided to water the hostas that Kevin just planted. I showed Connor how to use the hose, and he did very well with watering the hostas.
When we were done with that, I decided to use the hose to clean the front porch. After I was finished, I heard the new little kittens under the porch. I had no idea that they were there, and I probably soaked them! Under our front porch is a very protected area, and it was a great place for the kittens, until I came along and sprayed them with a hose unknowingly.
Connor and I went to get a flashlight so that we could peek under the porch and see the kittens. While I was kneeling on the front sidewalk with the flashlight, trying to see the kittens, Connor grabbed the hose and showed me that he remembered how to use it, by soaking me!
When teaching a toddler how to use the hose, remember to put it away when finished.
Also, teach him not to spray people in the back.
Anyways, we didn't see the kittens, and now I wonder if the mama cat will move them. Now that I know that the kittens are there, I totally know which one the mama cat is, because she has been acting strangely around the front porch for at least a week now.
