How Much Did the Headboard Cost?

Both Aunt Kathy and Kevin have asked me this, so I'm going to figure it out. Here goes!

Kevin was in charge of buying the wood, and he bought organic, low VOC plywood, or something like that. Per Kevin, it was $35.

I used a 40% off coupon on both the fabric and the foam. The fabric was originally $16.99 per yard. I bought more than I used, and I figure that I used 4 yards of fabric (high estimate). Before the coupon, the foam was $28.99 per yard, and I used 3 yards. (FYI, JoAnn is going to be putting all their high density foam on sale from May 22 to May 25 for 50% off.)

That means that we have:

Wood $35
Fabric $40
Foam $52
Batting $12
Glue $3

TOTAL $142

That's not too bad for a double-sized bed. Kevin also bought some assorted brackets and screws for mounting, plus staples for the staple gun. I'm going to guess that we could round that figure up to $150 to account for all that hardware.

Not bad at all Julie. And it's a custom job.
