My Mothers' Day Garden
My garden has been finished since last Sunday, but I didn't get around to taking pictures until yesterday. Kevin and I are really pleased with how it turned out, and it's going to look even better as it matures.
We planted some pansies and petunias for now, and there are some more fall-planted bulbs and plants that we are going to add in September. I also need to buy or make 4 trellises for some climbing flower vines.
I got some dwarf lilies for the middle of the garden. Next to the lilies are some blue balloon flowers.
This is one of the climbing flower vines. It's a mandevilla.
These are my new favorite. Unfortunately, calla lilies aren't winter hardy in this area, so I have to dig them up and bring them in each winter.
Here is the official list of what was (purchased and) planted:
Sun Parasol Giant Crimson Mandevilla
Snow on the Mountain (groundcover)
Amethyst Calla Lily (Zantedeschia)
Sentimental Blue Balloon Flower (Platycodon)
"Mona Lisa" Oriental Lily (White and Pink)
"After Eight" Oriental Lily (Red)
"Tiny Nanny" Asiatic Lily (White)
Endless Summer Hydrangea macrophylla "Bailmer"
Clematis "Carnaby" (Pink and White)
Clematis "Carnival" (Blue and Lavender)
And, the annuals that we planted this year:
Delta True Blue Pansy
Delta Pure Rose Pansy
Majestic Giants Mixed Pansy
Sorbet Coconut Swirl Viola
Watercolors Mix Pansy
Burgundy Madness Petunia
We also moved some of my oriental lilies, tulips and irises that were in different parts of the yard.
And for the sake of keeping good records, we planted two different varieties of hosta near our front walkway:
Hosta F. "Aureo-Marginata"
Hosta "Touch of Class"

Is that last picture a calla lilly? And is it purple? That is gorgeous. The garden looks lovely, hope you enjoy it all summer.
