Camp PJ 2009

I read an article in a parenting magazine a long time ago about a grandmother who had a "camp" at her house every summer for all of her grandkids (potty trained and up). It seemed like a great idea, so when my cousin suggested that she bring her kids down and camp at our house for a bit this summer, I was super excited about organizing our own summer camp. And so, Camp PJ was born!

You know you are at an official summer camp when there is a cake and t-shirts!

Each of the kids colored in their own shirts. Connor did his all by himself, and I think he did a great job!

Just in case you are a camper, I have two suggestions for you:
1. Coleman brand tents. The little tent is a Coleman, and even though it was out in the same thunderstorm as the bigger tent (which was another brand), it didn't leak. Even with the windows open. (Who left the windows open? I don't know...that's for sure.) Unfortunately, the bigger tent didn't fare as well, and the campers ended up inside on the last night, and we had to dry a bunch of stuff out.
2. Sham Wow. If your tent does leak, you need a sham wow to clean it up. Well, two, technically, but that did both the inside and the outside of the tent, so it could be packed up for the trip home.

that is really neat! (did you guys weather-proof your tents?)

Yes, the big tent was weather-proofed. Upon further inspection the problem was with the zippers. We took it back to the store and apparently someone else returned the same tent just last week for the same reason. So yesterday we bought a Coleman tent and a box of 8 Sham Wow's. Now we have to weather-proof the new tent.
