I Think I Can, I Think I Can

After consulting with a professional cake baker (that I used to go to high school with) about a good recipe for fondant, and consulting with a civil engineer with a PE in structures, and baking about half a dozen cakes in the past three weeks, I think I can make Connor a lovely birthday cake for his party.

And if all else fails, I shall purchase a sheet cake from Kroger. Or an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. And Connor will be happy, because Connor loves cake!

And, when you use a blowtorch to "smooth" out marshmallow fondant, it gives the icing a burnt marshmallow flavor and turns it brown. And the butter cream melts. Just FYI.

Is the home made fondant any good? I can't say that I've had too many cakes with it. And I've heard that sometimes its more for decoration than good eating.

My homemade fondant is *very* tasty! It's made from marshmallows.
