Ready!

Daddy wears ear plugs when he mows the lawn. Unfortunately, they didn't fit Connor's ears, and he wanted to be *just* like Daddy. Since we can appreciate his desire to protect his hearing, we bought him a set of over-the-ears passive hearing protection rated at 26 decibels.

Now, he's all ready to mow, watch fireworks, and go to loud and crazy sporting events. (He was a little overwhelmed by the noise at the last Crew game we took him to.)

He's not old enough to realize that he could pretend not to hear Mommy when he has these on. I called his name when we were testing them, and he turned right around. I tried them on, too, and they do dampen the noise quite a bit. But you can still hear people talking right near you.

I like them, and we are going to order an adult set rated at 33 decibels for Kevin. If they fit Connor as well, we'll upgrade his set.

cute--send him over, he can do our lawn too:) It takes us a lot longer right now because one of the blades stopped functioning on the riding tractor (an old electric GE that J brought back to life)--and the electric push mower is too heavy for me on the hills, and wouldn't have enough juice to do the whole lawn before needing to be recharged (those batteries are heavy, so they weigh more than gas mowers--I saw you were looking into them). BTW, saw the note on your neighbor spraying pesticides on the kids---nice.

Kevin wants to know what type of battery powered lawn mower you guys have. We are looking into the Neuton ones...and they are supposed to be light enough to pick up and carry around over your head (40-65 lbs, depending on the model)...not that I've ever mowed a lawn or anything.
