I will be a stay at home mom soon

Since the doctor told me to take it easy, I decided that I could either work, or take care of Connor, but not both, as I had been doing before when I was working from home.

I called my boss yesterday to discuss my situation, and we didn't really reach any conclusions. He indicated that he hadn't been counting on my return, and he suggested that we discuss my "compensation situation" for the medical leave that I had just taken when I came into the office.

So, this morning, I went into work. I was supposed to be there at 8:30 AM, but I didn't arrive until about 9:15, and I didn't feel guilty about it at all.

I did a little bit of work and organization, since things were a mess since I hadn't been working for about two weeks. I didn't even try to get everything done.

But, my boss had a meeting out of the office this morning, and he never made it back to meet with me. So, I still don't know exactly what is going on.

But, while I was there, I fielded a ton of phone calls about the job posting that he had put out for my replacement. And honestly, I was relieved that he had.

I don't know if tomorrow will be my last day. I don't know if I'll work for another two weeks. But I do know that I will offer to train my replacement when he hires him/her, and that I shall soon be a stay at home mom.

congratulations Julie!!! I actually wanted to ask you if that was coming, but decided to wait to hear from you! You'll love it--and you'll probably appreciate it more since you didn't get to stay home full time for the first couple of years.

Enjoy--and you better get a really great compensation pkg with all you did there!
