Connor Didn't Like the Lobsters This Year, etc.

We had lobsters on Sunday for Valentine's Day. Last year, Connor loved the lobsters. Daddy let him play with them on the kitchen floor before we cooked them.

But this year, Connor was terrified of them. He kept saying, "I don't want to be tickled. I don't want to be scared."

It reminded me of his complaints when we saw Pam's cute little puppy two weekends ago: "I don't want it to mess me up."

Kid says the darnedest things sometimes.

Like on Saturday night, right after he puked, he asked, "Mom, what happened to me?"

Oh, I'm sorry, I bet you didn't see that one coming.

Neither did we. We had just walked in the door after picking up BW3s for dinner, and it happened suddenly. He hit Lex's car seat, but fortunately the visor was pulled up and shielded poor Lex's head.

Don't worry.
The car seat has now been freshly laundered and disinfected.
And the floors have been mopped.
The bathrooms cleaned.
The carpets steam cleaned.
Eight loads of laundry have been washed.

Moving on.

Today was a much better day. Except for the fact that I woke up with a terrible kink in my neck. The kind that hurt so badly that when I asked Kevin to rub it for me, I saw stars and almost passed out. I was nauseated, so I was afraid that I had caught was Connor had. But it was just the pain. However, before I figured that out, I called my Mom and had her come over to help me with the boys.

I'm so glad that my Mom lives close by and can help out on days when my neck hurts so badly that my jaw and arms hurt, and I can't really move my head. She took Connor outside to play in the snow twice today. He loves playing football in the snow. (This is his best option right now, since we recently instituted a no-football-in-the-house rule. He was getting too rough.)

Did you know that the football goes flat in the cold? And that when you bring it back inside, it plumps back up after it gets warm again? How does the NFL control the air pressure in the ball during a snowy game?

I think the best part of playing football in the snow is that the ball will stand up in the snow so that you can kick it.

Oh, and Happy Presidents' Day!

How does Connor react to Sarah and Jason's dogs?

He loved them, but he hasn't seen them in awhile...
