Royal Icing Runout Gleeful Bunny Birthday

This is my brother, Kevin. Tomorrow is his 20th birthday. Yesterday, we celebrated. At his request, I made the cake.

Here is the Gleeful Bunny royal icing runout I made Saturday night to top the cake. I piped it onto wax paper so that I could trace the image beneath it. I should have made two, just in case one broke. I should have made them Friday night so that they would have had time to dry.

But I didn't.

And I certainly didn't just cut the wax paper around the bunny and stick that on the cake once I realized that the bunny was not dry, and wouldn't be dry in time, even if I used a blow dryer. You see nothing but a lovely marble cake covered in marshmallow fondant with buttercream filling and royal icing collar.

At least Kevin knew it for a Gleeful Bunny within seconds of walking in the door yesterday!

Happy Birthday Little Brother!

(Next year I'll do a Sinister Bunny, you know, sans wax paper!)

so when are you going to officially open your pastry shop? I've always thought it would be cool to have a tea and pastry shop with a book store, and some home-made craft items--a place for women to hang out--we should go into business together:)
