Our 2nd Parade

Since Connor loved the Dublin St. Patrick's Day parade so much this weekend, I decided to take him to the Columbus parade today.

The weather was perfect. Warm and sunny. Much better parade weather than last time, when it was cold and rainy. Lex probably didn't need the hat, and Connor probably didn't need the coat, but neither complained about being too hot, so I just left them on.

Connor's favorite thing about parades, I think, are the bands. He kept asking when the next one was going to come. As soon as he heard the band, he would shout, "Here comes the band!"

Connor was very excited to see more leprechauns, including this one, made of balloons, with a person inside, which he high-fived.

He was also very excited about scoring more free swag, including tons of candy, bead necklaces, a football and a frisbee. It doesn't take much to excite a two-year old, and he had plenty to be excited about!

Other notes:

I parked in a private surface lot that had an electronic payment center, but I couldn't get it to work. So, I just parked and was within sight of my car the entire time. I didn't notice when the lot attendant came by, so I ended up with a "parking ticket" on my window. Since I didn't have a payment stub on my dash, they printed a ticket for $50. But, if I pay within the next 7 days, it will be reduced to $25. They claim that if I don't pay within 14 days, they will send it to collections. They have my vehicle and license plate info. I wonder if that is enough to actually do anything with, but I don't think I'll test it out.

I love the marching bands too:) Actually, I have literally never SEEN a parade; I've always been in them. I should go to one sometime:)

I know it's not very close up, but you could pass that man in the balloon suit off as Kevin.

Bummer on the ticket. They can totally hunt you down with just the car & license plate info! John got a parking ticket with his rental car when he was in Cleveland in November and he thought he could skip out on it since we didn't live there anymore. Two weeks ago we got a notice in the mail from a company that Hertz hires to collect on tickets renters get...with a nice note saying they'll automatically pay the ticket with his work credit card if he doesn't pay them ASAP.

@ Jelena: Yikes! I'll be sure to pay it just to avoid the hassle.

@ Pam: Yikes! I can see what you are talking about when I look at the little version on my blog.

@ Auntie: Yikes! You *must* watch a parade from the sidewalk like the rest of us do. And soon.
