My Highchair was Recalled

Last month I received notice that our Graco Harmony highchair had been recalled due to a fall hazard. Apparently the legs were breaking apart somehow, and the chairs were unsafe.

I love this highchair. It is easy to clean, it has two trays and a built in snack tray. The straps are easy to use. It reclines. The height is adjustable. The colors blend with our decor.

And I really didn't want to buy a new one.

So, I contacted Graco and got the free repair kit, which consisted of two replacement screws that were much longer than the ones that were previously installed in the legs, and the little tarp you see attached at the bottom of all four legs.

I understand that this keeps the chair sturdy. But we've had it in place now for a little more than a week, and it is a magnet for food. And dirt.

I'm all for safety, but scrubbing this dang thing after every meal is a PITA.

I now love my highchair slightly less, but I still don't want to buy a new one.
