Connor had a birthday!
We had a big 3rd birthday party on Saturday for Connor. I think that it was a great party, and I know that Connor had a wonderful time. He also got a ton of great presents. He's one happy little 3 year old, let me tell you.
On Sunday, which was his actual birthday, we took him to Big Boy because he has been talking about going there for his birthday for ages. He decided all by himself that he wanted to have his birthday dinner at Big Boy when he was 3, because then he was going to be a big boy. We also took him to a driving range and miniature golf course to try out his new golf clubs.
I'm still not recovered from the festivities. Things are mostly put away and cleaned up. But there are some new toys that still need integrated into our house...and a cooler full of warm beer and pop in my kitchen. I was honestly too tired to care much about that stuff today, and only got a few things done.
Mostly, I just played with the boys today. We set up the train tracks on Connor's new train table, and Lex loved it as much as Connor did. He crawled over to the train table, reached up to it and stood up! That's the first time he has done that - and he did it again!
One more little thing that is only important to me:
Connor was playing with his new shopping cart and plastic food today. After he was done shopping, he loaded the food into the trunk of his cozy coupe car to drive it home. That's when Lex swiped his ketchup bottle. Connor said,
"Come on buddy, I wanted that ketchup! You can't take it out of the trunk while I'm driving!"
And the whole world was perfect.
