I am a creature of habit.
I used to shop at Easton Town Center all the time. Then, I switched to the Polaris Fashion Place. (Don't you love how both malls have names that don't include the word mall? What's up with that?)
The switch in my shopping habits happened when I was pregnant with Lex, because the Motherhood Maternity and Pea in the Pod stores at Easton closed, and were replaced with a new combination mecca known as Destination Maternity that opened at Polaris.
When you are pregnant, all you need is a destination mecca of maternity clothes. You can't shop anywhere else. Plus, there are great stores for kid's wear at Polaris: Baby Gap, Gymboree, Jack and Jill, and a Carter's across the street.
So, Polaris became my new one stop shop. Plus, it was close to my parents' house, so we could stop and visit them, too.
Easton became neglected and forgotten (at least by me), even though it is closer to my house.
But no more!
This week I went shopping with my friend Carrie to help her pick out a dress to wear to a family wedding, and we headed to Easton. The place has changed quite a bit since my Easton-shopping-habit days. There are new stores! There are stores I love to shop at! And more stores that I want to shop at are opening soon!
I am excited about Anthropologie, Banana Republic, Burberry, Coach, Crate & Barrel, Eddie Bauer, Gap, Limited, New York & Co., North Face, Pandora, Pottery Barn, Puma, Restoration Hardware, Tiffany & Co., and White House|Black Market.
I was excited about J. Crew when I saw the following posted on their door: "Personal shopping appointments available during regular store hours." But then we got into the store and they had exactly three black dresses, one beige dress, a few pairs of slacks and blazers, and some casual tops and bottoms that were all neutral and patternless. I don't need a personal shopper for that blah selection!
Plus, there are all of my favorite kid's clothing stores (except Carter's, but I can find their stuff in the department stores). And there is a Barnes & Noble, Build-a-Bear Workshop and Lego store. I think we are covered for the boys.
There is a Sony Store and an Apple Store for Kevin to browse. Plus, there is a bike store called Roll that he frequents anyways.
There is a local radio station that gives away a big $10,000 shopping spree at Easton every year, and for a few years I would have preferred a shopping spree to Polaris. But no more! My love for Easton has been renewed!
Now, bring on the shopping spree! I'm feeling lucky!

Hey, where'd you go? No post since July?
I love Easton more than Polaris, but I think it's just the Cheesecake Factory, to be honest. I tell myself it's that I like the "town center" aspect of it so much, but it's the Cheesecake Factory.
