Somebody Special is Turning One!

At 9:24 PM tonight, Lex is going to be exactly one year old. It hardly seems real that an entire year has already passed.

On the one hand, it seems like it was just a few moments ago when we first met. I remember that night with perfect clarity.


I can still recall exactly the conversation going on in the delivery room when he was born. It was so calm.


On the other hand, we have crammed a ton of fun into the past 365 days! Lex has already done so many things and been to so many places!

Important 12 month milestones:

Lex can walk! It seems a little surreal still. His little pitter-patter fills the house now.

Lex can do "Pat-a-Cake." He says "pat a tate pat a tate pat a tate" and claps his hands. Then he rolls them when that part comes along. If you join in and sing the song with him, he gets so excited!

Lex is a climber. He can do stools; he can climb up on little chairs. He can get onto the couch. He loves to sit on the couch next to us, like a big boy.


He loves to drive the Cozy Coupe. He has learned how to run himself over already.

Lex loves to eat popcorn. Which is great, because it's Connor's new favorite snack during his before-bed-movie-and-pajama parties.

He also loves peanut butter and honey.

Lex is also quite tricky. He can open bottle tops. He can open child-proof latches. (If he can't open them, he just breaks them!) He can even remove his own diaper without taking off his clothes!! (He was wearing a one-piece shorts creeper when he did that one.)
