Disney on Ice: Toy Story 3
On Saturday, Grandma Ella and Papa Kirk took all of us to see Disney on Ice: Toy Story 3. (Thank you Papa Kirk and Grandma Ella!)
Connor knew that we were going somewhere for a surprise, but he had no idea what was going to happen. We saw the show in the same arena where the Cleveland Cavaliers play basketball, so once we finally got there, he thought that maybe we were going to see a basketball game.
All the kids dressed up in Toy Story outfits didn't tip him off. Neither did our own Woody and Buzz, who we brought with us.
But he was absolutely transfixed when Mickey came out to see him. As was Lex.
He was totally absorbed in the first half of the show, so much so, that he almost forgot to eat his hot dog. Almost. He's never met a hot dog that he didn't eventually eat.
During intermission, Connor asked for a hat like Woody wears. Knowing that Lex loves hats, we bought two.
The second half of the show was when they finally got into the story line of the third movie. The whole first half was probably pulled from the first two Disney on Ice Toy Story tours. Not that I'm complaining, as I hadn't seen them before and the routines were good, if a little long.
The best skaters were actually Jessy and Ken. Buzz fell down once, and he and Woody both stumbled quite a bit. I understand why they saved the best male skater for the role of Ken, though, as he did a number of lifts and tosses with Barbie, and you can't have someone drop Barbie on her head in the middle of the show. I'm just saying.
Disney is doing a general show with Mickey Mouse this fall, and I'm thinking of taking the boys to see that. They both did really well with the show this time. Connor wants to see the Imagination Movers when they come to town in April. How many shows do these little boys need to see? I haven't decided yet.
