Today we took Grandma Ella on an adventure to see the Cleveland Botanical Gardens.
I was pleased to use my Franklin Park Conservatory membership reciprocity to gain admission.
We had an absolutely splendid time.
I love to go to the Franklin Park Conservatory for their orchid exhibit, and for their (separate) butterfly exhibit.
Today at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens, we saw their Orchids Reign exhibit, as well as butterflies, birds, a hedgehog, tortoises, bugs, and more birds. It was so beautiful.
My only concern was a smallish drowning hazard, as there is a waterfall and a pool right in the middle of the Costa Rica room that is hidden from view until you happen upon it, and there is nothing to keep little kids from going right into it. Which is actually pretty cool, unless your toddler runs ahead and you freak out when you realize that he is thisclose to taking a dive.
But once everyone has been instructed *not* to go swimming, the resulting photos are pretty amazing.
I can't wait to go back this spring or summer to view their outdoor gardens. We took a brief and chilly stroll through a small part of them today, but the only thing that was starting to bloom were some crocuses. We are particularly looking forward to visiting the Hershey Children's Garden.
Be on the lookout for my photos from today, they are pretty spectacular (all modesty), and I will be posting them shortly.
