Dinosaurs at COSI

We went to COSI today with some friends to check out the summer Dinosaur exhibit.

Lex took turns walking around growling like a dinosaur, and then getting spooked and fussing.

About 1/3 of the exhibit was a bunch of animatronic dinos that moved and roared...and it reminded me of the T-Rex cafe in Orlando.

Pachy! One of our favorite dinos.

This part of the exhibit was my personal favorite!

I was a little bit disappointed that about 1/3 of the exhibit was a bunch of video games that were all linked together so that you could play as a dinosaur in a virtual Cretaceous environment and stalk your friend as a T-Rex and eat up another friend that was playing as a Triceratops. I mean, don't get me wrong, that is cool, but it is just a video game...and it isn't something that my kids are old enough to do.

The final 1/3 of the exhibit was a full sized maze that you walked through, and there were interactive dino exhibits stashed away inside of that.

Build your own dino magnets

The exhibit was completed with an entire dinosaur-themed gift shop. I *almost* bought some ice cube trays that make ice cubes in the shapes of dinosaur bones. Cool right? But totally unnecessary. I did pick up a Magic Ink Dinosaur Maze book for Connor...it was perfect because he loves Magic Ink, dinosaurs and mazes! Not to be left out, Lex nabbed a dinosaur sticker and coloring book.
