Farmer's Market

Last night, we took the boys to a local farmer's market. We told them that they could each pick out any kind of treat available.

I bought a Fried Green Tomato Batter Mix, along with a few green tomatoes, zucchini and candy onions to fry up. In my defense, I also picked up some beets, which I used to make fresh beet and carrot juice when we got home.

Lex picked out a watermelon and some peaches. And he tried to eat all the berries and cherries that he could reach.

Kevin got a variety of fruits and vegetables to use in making juice.

(Oh, did I mention that he just bought us a new juicer? It's awesome!)

But the main point of this story is Connor. Connor, in true Connor-fashion, claimed that he didn't like fruits or vegetables, and picked out a bag of cheese flavored corn puffs. They weren't even organic. But at least they did come from a local farm.

And do you know what he wanted for a bed-time snack last night? Cheese puffs.

Breakfast this morning? Cheese puffs.

Lunch? Cheese puffs.

Post-nap snack? Cheese puffs.

Perhaps like the flamingo, which gets its pink hue from the shrimp it eats, Connor gets his natural hair color by eating cheese puffs. Either that, or I am afraid that he may turn into a giant cheese puff.
