(Pink) Blooms

First, an update on our tomato crop using our Topsy Turvy Tomato Planter for the first year.

That's right, we have two green tomatoes!

Quick quiz: do you know what this is?

Answer: A balloon flower.

I love my purple balloon flowers. I realize that I may be the only one, but the way that the buds form balloons before they open is seriously exciting and interesting business to me.

My hydrangea is pink this year. I didn't add anything to the soil to try to change it's color, and I'm pleased with its natural hue.

My pink oriental lilies are blooming now. I will confess that these photos are about a week old now, and my garden is way more spectacular today, because there are about three times as many flowers open in bloom.

Every summer I think about my plans to plant allium bulbs in the fall so that I will have alliums in the spring. Alas, every fall comes and goes without me actually planting the alliums, so the cycle repeats endlessly. But this year I've found something that can be planted at any time: The Everlasting Allium.

How many should I buy? Hmmm...
