Slate Run Living Historical Farm

We went to the farm yesterday.

The Slate Run Living Historical Farm. Everything there is as it was in 1880.

Interior design was fabulous in the 1880s, no?

We participated in a preschool program about farm animals, so we got to pet all sorts of different animals. Lex really loved petting the horses on the nose.

They also pet some sheep, chickens and pigs. We saw some turkeys and cows, but we didn't pet any of those.

Their favorite activities of the day were, I believe, swinging on ropes up in the loft of the big red barn and playing corn darts.

The dart is a dried up corn cob with feathers stuck in the back of it, and you have to throw it through a hoop tied up in a tree. It was actually a lot of fun!
