The Topiary Park

Are you familiar with this painting?

A Sunday Afternoon on the Isle of La Grand Jatte
by Georges Seurat

At my old office, this a reproduction of this painting was hanging by my desk. I used to sit and stare at it when the urge to sit and stare came upon me while I was working.

I just discovered that there is a park here in town that has reproduced this painting. It's a landscape of a painting of a landscape. It's the Topiary Park. Something this original and fantastic was definitely worth a trip to check it out.

While we enjoyed looking at the topiary garden and talking about the painting, we also enjoyed looking at the ducks and picking the berries off the yew bushes to throw into the pond for the ducks to eat. According to Lex, the ducks were hungry, and that's what they wanted to eat. We also enjoyed racing around the park on the walking paths.

What do you think they were talking about here? I can't remember. But apparently we are a family that uses wild hand gestures to get our point across.

I've stared at the original, once, I think at some point when it must have been in Chicago--reminds me of a nice Sunday in the park:)
