We never lie about hard questions. But we don't always tell the entire story. Just enough to answer.

"Mommy, did you know that in one of the downtowns there used to be these two really tall skyscrapers called the Twin Towers, but they aren't there anymore because they got destroyed."

- What Connor knew about 9/11... I had no idea he knew anything at all about it, but I guess the media coverage of the 10th Anniversary has been hard to ignore

Now he knows that the buildings were destroyed because "bad men flew airplanes into them. There were two airplanes for each building." (Yes, I know this is incorrect, but even though I keep correcting him, this is how he keeps telling the story.)

He was also very interested in how the buildings fell, whether they fell into each other or leaned away from one another. I told them that they fell straight down in a great big explosion. Now he is doing a perfect illustration of how the towers fell with his hands. I think he must have seen a video clip of it somewhere.
