Lex really wishes that he could play baseball, too

This fall, Connor is playing baseball. Actually, since he is only 4 years old, it's technically t-ball.

Connor is on the Cubs. And he's happy about it. Can't you tell?

Lex is jealous. He really wants to play baseball, too. I didn't sign him up, because the league is for 3 and 4 year olds, and Lex is only 1. But I swear that he is the same size as a few of the kids on the team...and I'm sure that he would do at least as good as that one kid whose mother stands right next to him and directs his every.single.move. I'm all for parental involvement, but when you have to hold the bat with your child and hold his hand from home to first base, first base to second base, and he is clearly still in diapers, I'm just going to guess that he isn't quite 3 years old yet. Anyways.

So, while Connor is learning all about how to play baseball, and making some new friends, Lex is learning something slightly different.

Lex is learning to climb. He's climbing on the ridiculously advanced and somewhat dangerous playground equipment.

For the record, there is a sign on this playground informing parents and children that the playground is designed for use by children aged 5 to 12, in sufficiently good health, with adequate strength, balance and ability, and constant parental supervision. But you know what about that sign? Lex hasn't bothered to read it yet.

When he gets tired of climbing on the playground, he climbs on the fences. Last night he got so high up that I couldn't reach him any more, and when he got stuck, I had to climb up after him to fetch him down.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have ourselves a little baseball player, and a climbing monkey.
