So, what's up with the boys lately?

Lex had his two-year check up at the doctor's office. Here are his stats:

Height: 35 3/4 inches
Weight: 28 lbs 15 oz

He's doing really well developmentally, too. He passed all the doctor's tests. She said that he should be able to put together two words in a sentence. He's well beyond that. That kid is a chatter box! According to the good doc, Kevin and I should be able to understand about 95% of what he says, and strangers should be able to understand about 50% of what he says. I think that's pretty accurate.

Speaking of talking...Connor has come up with some new ways to voice his frustration/disappointment. He knows that he isn't allowed to say "bad words," so he has been exclaiming things like:

Oh, hammers!

Oh, hammocks!

Oh, ham-horses! (This last one makes Kevin and I absolutely crack up!)

I asked him why he was saying these things, and he told me that he knew he would get in trouble for saying the bad words. He's totally got it figured out.

Then, the other day, we were watching the Curious George 2 movie, and when the man in the yellow hat got really frustrated, he exclaimed: "Horse Feathers!" Connor was delighted, and laughed hysterically.

So now, occasionally he will throw a "horse feathers" into the mix.

P.S. Friday Flashback with the blue chair here.
