What to do with the Applebee's gift card?

Kevin got a gift card to Applebee's for his birthday last month. It was plenty of money for us to take the whole family out for a nice dinner, but we decided to do something a little bit different with it.

Instead of just one big meal, we've been using the gift card to do dessert every weekend.

We take the boys after dinner, and we drive over to the Applebee's by our house. We do it on the weekends so that we can watch football on all the big screen TVs. This makes Connor endlessly happy. He is *so* into football right now. (Huge understatement.)

Then, we order the big chocolate chip cookie topped with a few scoops of vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup and whipped cream to share. It's big enough for all four of us.

After our dessert, we head back home, usually to put the boys to bed. The outing is short enough that Lex doesn't get antsy in the restaurant, and everyone is happy. So happy, in fact, that I think that we may keep up the tradition for the rest of football season, even after our gift card balance reaches zero in a few more weeks.
