Experimenting with Cookies

Connor is the son of an engineer (Kevin) and a baker (me).

So it should surprise none of us that he wanted to test out some cookie recipes yesterday.

First, he asked me to make the dough for a chocolate chip cookie - but he didn't want me to put the chocolate chips in. He wanted to poke them in himself once I had spooned the cookies onto the cookie sheets. Before the cookie sheets went into the oven, he poked in Skittles, M&Ms or chocolate chips to make three different types of cookies.

The chocolate chip ones tasted the way that they always do, and the M&M ones were yummy, too! I haven't been brave enough to taste the Skittle cookies yet, but here is what Connor had to say about them,

"When you taste them, you are going to be really surprised! They taste like Skittles and cookies!"

I was worried that the Skittles wouldn't hold up to the baking process, but they turned out alright. Maybe Skittles would be really tasty in a sugar cookie dough. I think we will try that next time Connor wants to invent new cookies.
