There is a church near our house that is putting on a huge Christmas pageant, complete with live animals in their nativity. There is a huge printed banner on the church, advertising their Christmas Drama, "The Prince of Peace." Connor is in the beginning stages of learning to read, so he asked me what it said. I read it to him, and then we talked about how it was a play. He wants to go see it. It was a very nice conversation, but at the end of it I realized that he thought we had been talking about "The Princess and the Pea" the entire time. I suppose they do sound very similar...
Tonight at dinner, Connor informed me that if we are going to go to San Francisco (I wonder who his travel agent is), that we are going to need someone to guard our house. And, that while we are in San Francisco, I can't root for the Dallas Cowboys, because the other people at the San Francisco stadium would get mad and spank me. Indeed.
The boys finally decided that they were ready to meet Santa. They wanted to go to our community's "Dinner with Santa." It's in a few days, and I didn't think that we would be able to get tickets at this late date. In fact, though, we got the last 4 available tickets this afternoon. What luck! Now, we just need them to still want to meet Santa when we get there...
After seeing their friend's chocolate advent calendar today, the boys also decided that they wanted their own chocolate advent calendars. (And who can blame them, really?) We nabbed the last four on the shelf at Giant Eagle. What luck! Actually, I didn't think we needed four, as I figured that we only needed two, but the boys were adamant that I buy one for Kevin and myself as well. Connor went ahead and caught himself up to date by eating all the chocolate for December 1st through 5th. But I went ahead and did the favor for Lex. I didn't want to confuse him when he was only allowed to have one piece of chocolate tomorrow. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
