In other news...

Today is December 1st.

I would like to say that I am happy to start this new month with all members of our family present and accounted for, and in good enough health.

Cruiser has another respiratory infection. I'm going to be giving that cat more antibiotics. And it seems like if I ever want to stop giving it antibiotics, I'm going to have to stop taking it to the vet. It probably doesn't help that he sneezed his body weight in green goop all over the vet during the exam, right? I don't care so much about the cat's cold as I do about my boys catching some sort of feline flu. And apparently they can, so I treat it.

Yeah, that cat weighs about 2 pounds.

My grandpa is also accounted for and in good enough health. I mean, right?

You know, I am pretty sure that he knows who Connor and Lex are, because he does recognize them and their names, but 9 times out of 10, he calls them "Skeeter" and "Magoo." I think that's probably because he can't come up with their names off the top of his head in the heat of the moment, whatever moment that might be.

When I was little, my grandpa used to entertain us with "I once spit so far" stories. As in, "I once spit so far into outer space that NASA found my spit and mailed it back to me." Or, "I can spit clear across the ocean. To Japan! I once spit so far that I hit a man in Japan right smack in the eye." Totally believable, right?

And, as it is finally December, I cannot hold Connor off any longer. We will be getting a Christmas tree sometime this weekend, and the weather seems nice enough that we will be putting up our outside lights today.

If you need me, I'll be outside with the ladder and some extension cords. And maybe some duct tape. Because duct tape will be sure to make my 4 year-old's Christmas lights display plan even more classy. You know he was solely responsible for the art direction for our lights last year, and they weren't half bad. Especially since he was only 3 years old then. I still don't have a clue what I really want them to look like, so he will probably get to decide again now.

Photos to follow, I'm sure.
