Connor loves games. Board games especially. I swear he would be happy playing board games for 10-12 hours each day. I also love to play board games, but I was getting a little bit bored playing the same ones over and over. So we went shopping.
Here are some of our new favorites.
The Chuggington Traintastic Cargo Game. This one is definitely a hit. First of all, it's Chuggington. Second, the basic rules are simple enough that Lex can play with us. I like it because it teaches numbers, colors, shapes and patterning. And, since there are tons of pattern cards, it's like a new game each and every time you play. There are more advanced rules for play, but we haven't even looked into them yet.
End verdict? A great last-minute Valentine's gift for any 2-5 year old who likes trains even a little bit.
Richard Scarry's Busytown Busy Busy Airport game. This one is another favorite. Again, it is simple enough for a two-year old to play, but is very entertaining. I love Richard Scarry anyways. The game has tons of details, and you can set it up so that the various destinations are spread out all over the house, so you have to fly the passengers in your plane for a long trip. Very cute.
Lego Heroica Castle Fortaan. This game is for older kids, so only Connor plays it. But this is probably his favorite game. Since you build the game board yourself, it is endlessly changeable. And there are additional Lego Heroica games that you can combine for a larger game.
