So, Connor's photo in front of the stadium took place from inside the nice dry car. He wasn't interested in getting out and getting wet in the downpour.
Since that was kind of anti-climatic, we decided to venture into the Pro Shop.
And then we got talked into taking a self-guided tour of the stadium. Please note that this self-guided tour was three times more expensive than the full-service tour that we took of the Indianapolis Colts stadium. Also, this self-guided tour was less than one-fourth the price of the full-service Dallas Cowboys tour. If you do the math, you will see that you can expect to pay a lot of money to take a full-service tour of the Dallas Cowboys Stadium. However, for our wants and needs, the self-guided tour was fantastic.
We got to see the field and the HUGE video display, which is the largest HD tv in the world. And I knew that before we saw it, but that still didn't prepare me for exactly how HUGE that thing is. And I'm happy to report that it wasn't just hanging there. They play a continuous loop of highlights from Dallas Cowboys football games so that you can see it in action.
And then we got to go on the field!
We also got to visit the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders locker room.
Self-Portrait in a Cowboys Cheerleaders Locker
(because why not?)
Sidebar: We missed the open audition tryouts for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders by just a few days. For the record, had we still been in town, I totally would have gone. No, I don't know the first thing about cheerleading, but it would have been fun to get cut during the first round anyways.
Lex climbed into each and every one of the lockers, and did a little dance in each mirror. Which was fine, as they were made of stainless steel.
But, before we went into the team locker room, a nice lady informed us that the team lockers were made of African Sapele wood, and as a result, each one costs between $9,000 and $14,000, and we were not to touch, sit or stand on them. So, after allowing Lex to climb all over the last lockers, we decided it was best to just hold him in this room.
There were some jerseys with shoulder pads for the kids to try on, though. Look at how Lex's fell right off his shoulders, with him in the middle!
Next stop: Press Room!
Then, we did what the boys had been begging to do. We went back onto the field and procured a football so that they could play.
It was a ton of fun, and I'm so glad that we did it. I'm so happy that the boys got to play football on the Dallas Cowboys field. And, I have to admit that playing football with that huge tv above is *very* distracting. I can't imagine how visiting teams deal with it. I imagine that the Cowboys have to practice with it on all the time.
5 down. 27 to go.
Stay tuned for videos of the boys playing football at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium with their Daddy!
