Yesterday we celebrated Connor's 5th birthday a bit, seeing as how it was his actual birthday. But since it was a Wednesday, we are saving more of his celebrations for this weekend. As a result, Connor seems to think that we are going to be celebrating his birthday every day until then.
So, on the morning of his birthday, he set off with his little brother in tow to discover where we had hidden his pile of birthday presents. He had directed me that he wanted half of his presents on his birthday, and the other half at his party.
Yesterday (before breakfast, even) he opened some new Harry Potter lego sets, some books, Cars Squinkies and the lobster hoodie he had been lusting over from Janie and Jack. We spent the day playing with his new toys and reading his new books. We also watched Lion King 1 1/2 at his request. I let him beat me at a lengthy game of Dino-opoly.
Then, at dinner time, we went to Rule (3) with Nana and Grandpa and Uncle Kevin, along with his friend Logan and her parents.
We bowled on the big lanes (with bumpers), ate too much junk food, played video games and pool. I think he had the best day ever.
Then, this morning he woke up and asked what we were doing to celebrate his birthday on this day. I'm a sucker for both Connor and chocolate, so we made brownies, played more Legos, and watched Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
I have nothing up my sleeve for tomorrow. What are the chances he's going to let me get away with that?
