Kindergarten Homeschool Swim and Gym

Since we are homeschooling Connor, I signed him up for the Homeschool Swim and Gym offered at our local rec center.  This is the same place where we've been going for preschool swim and gym classes for the past two years.

I think Connor loves his new big-kid swim and gym classes.

He isn't swimming yet, but the group dynamic of swimming with 7 other kids his own age, some of whom can already swim under water, is definitely helping him learn to enjoy being in the water more.  Today was his third class, and he actually jumped into the pool all by himself!

His gym class is much larger than the swim class, and there are close to 30 kindergarteners in it.  I was a little shocked at the gym class sizes at first, as they are pretty sizable in all grades.  I didn't realize just how many homeschooling families there were in our area!

Today they did throwing and catching.  Last week was jump roping.  Connor is making new friends, and he is finding out that he is pretty good at most of these gross motor skill activities.  I'm not really surprised, as he has always had a love for sports.
